By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by American
landscape painter Barb Smith (born 1955 in Decatur, Illinois).
Barb Smith started painting with oils in 2010. She spent 25 years as the sole proprietor of her framing business. Because of this she has surrounded herself by art. She had the privilege of framing the artwork of some wonderful artists. This is where she feels she honed her skills as a colorist...all good things to help her get to where she is with her artwork today.
Barb lives at the foot of the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountains in Loveland, Colorado. Everyday she can take in the majestic sights surrounding her.
Barb has taken numerous classes and workshops over the years. She continues to read and educate herself on her passion for oil painting. This enables her to continue learning and improving her artwork.
She is currently a Member of Plein Air Artists of Colorado (PAAC)

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
“For myself, a day of painting is the greatest escape of all. I totally lose track of time and become completely immersed in what I am creating. Once I start a painting it is sometimes hard to focus on other details of my life until I am satisfied with the end result. It takes a lot of hours and hard work to get to that point. That is my favorite time with my paintings. It is finally accomplishing my vision.
It is my hope that the viewer should experience the pleasure of their eyes going into my painting when they look at my artwork. I try to accomplish this by using rich colors and pleasing compositions.”
