By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by Serbian
landscape painter Dejan Trajković (born 1973 in Leskovac, Serbia).
Born in Leskovac, Dejan graduated from the Faculty of Teacher Education in Vranje, where he had a renowned painter, Zoran Petrusijevic for an art professor. Although he grew up watching the paintings of old masters of Renaissance, Baroque and Realism, contemporary painters, especially two of them, had a decisive influence on his painting: Russian painter Alexei Antonov, from whom he learned the method of classical construction of the painting by the Flemish method, and his personal friend Vladimir Jovicevic who is a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
Although at the beginning under Alexei's influence he painted predominantly still lifes and portraits, Dejan later found himself increasingly in the landscape. He cites among his landscape influences Russian 19th-century painters, peredvizhniki, Scandinavian and German masters, as well as his Serbian contemporary colleagues, especially Velko Geurgevich and Stanisa Stojiljkovic Nite.
Dejan has been painting for fifteen years in which he studied and sought his own expression. The artist lives and paints in Grdanica.
He is a member of the arts group Barti.
