By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by Indian
landscape painter Bhavani Krishnan (born 1984 in Rheinfelden, Switzerland).
Born in Switzerland, Bhavani spent her formative years in India. She was always interested in art and enjoyed her drawing and painting classes in high school. After high school, she chose engineering as a profession. She spent the next 11 years studying for and pursuing a career in engineering. She picked up the brush again in 2012 and rediscovered her passion for art.
Bhavani has studied with well-known artists Anthony Ryder, Celeste Ryder, Timothy Stotz and Michelle Tully. She now lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and paints to her heart's content.
Education
- 2016 Selected as a fellow at the Hudson River Fellowship (awarded by Grand Central Academy, NYC)
- 2015-2016 full-time student at the Ryder Studio, Santa Fe (Atelier run by Anthony Ryder)
- 2015 Summer Intensive program at Studio Escalier, France

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
“As a visual artist, I express myself through my art. I strive for painterly realism in the variety of subjects that I paint in oils. I want my paintings to look real from a distance but up-close they are simply strokes of colors laid upon abstract shapes. I paint on location and in my studio.
Painting from life is the ultimate thrill for me. I see beauty all around me and I am constantly inspired to capture that in paint, in hopes of transcending my visual experience to the viewer. I look for patterns of light and shadow, evocative passages of color and exciting variety of shapes..”
