Twelve Pieces by Contemporary Artist

              Isabelle Lahouratate (Born 1966)

  Feature Artist Bio

By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by French painter

Isabelle Lahouratate (born 1966 in Gironde, France).

Isabelle Lahouratate was born in the Southwest of France, where she lives today.

After raising her children, she decided, as a hobby, to learn pastel art, inspired by the "Festival international du pastel de Feytiat" in France.

Since 2011 she has studied at the "Académie Pictura," directed by the pastellist Jean-Charles Peyrouny in Bergerac. She took an internship with Peter Thomas, Claude Carvin, and soon, with Sophie Amauger.

Isabelle is influenced by the Impressionists, especially Claude Monet, with his series of haystacks. Her favorite painting subjects are the landscapes where she lives (vineyards, fields, meadows, wildflowers, etc.). She tries to convey the atmosphere and emotion that triggered her desire to paint. She paints from her own reference photos, and "en plein air" when she has time during holidays.

Since 2013 she has exhibited at the "Festival du pasteldes bastides de Saint Agne" France, where she won the Boesner prize for creativity in 2016.
