Feature Artist Bio
By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Candice Ferguson (born 1961 in Glendale, CA, USA).
Candice Ferguson was born the second-oldest of seven children. From a very early age Candice exhibited a strong interest in art. In high school her art teacher took her under her wing and taught her sculpting after school and by the time she was 18 she was exhibiting in two galleries in Laguna Beach.
Candice worked many years in her own firm, designing homes in Malibu, California. In 2012 she decided it was time to pursue her life long dream of becoming a full-time artist. She has never looked back, spending every day happily creating landscapes either in her studio or outside.
Candice was trained in oils but discovered pastels in 2014 and found she loved pastels so much that now that is her preferred and only medium. Her love for landscapes and lighting has taken her on travels to every state and large parts of Europe, always searching for the perfect subject in the perfect light.
She has studied under master pastelists Liz Haywood-Sullivan and Albert Handell. Candice's paintings have been displayed in numerous exhibits and have won multiple awards, including the Pastel Society Of Colorado Award at the NGAE. Her work is currently on exhibit at the Shirt Factory Gallery and the Ellison Gallery at the Denver Public Library. Candice is a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast.
In 1987 Candice married the love of her life, Mark, and had three beautiful children. She now has two beautiful grandkids she loves to paint with. She currently lives in Ventura, CA with her husband, daughter and grandkids and where she currently teaches pastel workshops.
