Feature Artist Bio
By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Sabrina Stiles (born 1959 in Flint Michigan, USA).
Sabrina Stiles grew up in the once-bustling auto-manufacturing
town of Flint, Michigan. In 1980 she married and moved to
Colorado, where she resides today.
As the owner of a coffee house from 1994-Â2004, Sabrina was
inspired by the work of local artists on display in her shop.
Raising her son while managing a business left little time to explore
her budding interest. She took classes and experimented with
various styles and mediums as time allowed.
After closing the coffee house in 2004 and moving to the northern
Colorado town of Longmont, Sabrina studied and worked briefly asan aesthetician. A cancer diagnosis in 2007 prompted her to quit herjob and pursue her artistic passion.
She has taken workshops with many nationally-recognized
artists and studied with Doug Dawson at The Art Students
League in Denver.
The landscape near her home and those she encounters in her
travels with husband Henry provide inspiration for her paintings.
She finds challenge in capturing the mood of a place using various
techniques in pastel.
