By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece Exhibitions of works by contemporary Impressionist Dick McEvoy (born 1951).

Dick was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, lived most of his formative years in Duxbury Massachusetts, and he has lived in Newtown CT. since 1981. He paints primarily impressionistic landscapes in pastel and oil, and he has recently enjoyed expanding into abstract impressionist work in oil with palette knife.

As he was applying to college, Dick considered art school but growing up one of nine children he wasn’t prepared to live the life of a struggling/starving artist. At Brown University, he majored in Psychology, and took courses at Rhode Island School of Design. While at Wharton Business School for his MBA, he studied with Violette DeMazia at The Barnes Foundation.

Dick McEvoy is a Signature Artist and elected Board Member of the Pastel Society of America, and he is also a Signature Artist member of the Connecticut Pastel Society and the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod.

Dick has exhibited in France, Italy and Taiwan, along with numerous sites in the U.S.; his work is in over 200 private and corporate collections; and his artwork has been included in publications such as Pure Color/Best in Pastel, Art du Pastel en France, and in the Pastel Journal
