By permission of the artistThe Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature a 12-piece Exhibition of works by contemporary artist Lindsay Frost (B. 1962)

Lindsay is a contemporary artist and actress living in Santa Monica CA. She was raised in Minneapolis Minnesota, the daughter of actor Warren Frost and Virginia, a teacher. Both of her brothers are writers. The arts were a major part of her childhood and initially the visual arts seemed to be her calling. In high school she was fortunate to study art under master teacher Hazel Belvo and considered following that path exclusively. She also had a love for the stage and ultimately made the decision to attend the Professional Theater Training Program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Upon graduation she headed to New York where she was cast on the daytime serial As the World Turns. She also spent a year in the original Broadway production of David Henry Hwang’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play M. Butterfly.  She then moved to Los Angeles where she has starred in a variety of Film and Television vehicles.  She has been happily married for 25 years and is the very proud mother of two sons.

Years later, while shooting The Elizabeth Smart Story on location in Halifax Nova Scotia, she spent her down time at the Halifax Art Museum.  Inspired, she happened by an art store and picked up pencils and paper. Old passions rekindled, she began to draw. Upon returning home, she decided to study formally and found a brilliant teacher, Rebecca Kimmel of the Korpus School of Art, in Los Angeles. She spent two years under Rebecca, studying the Masters and working in multiple media.

Today she devotes her days painting in her studio in Santa Monica, Ca. Her interests are varied and have helped shape much of her work and its direction. Her eldest son Lucas is a professional baseball player in the Washington Nationals organization. Countless hours in the bleachers and on the backfields of professional and amateur baseball is the inspiration behind her baseball paintings. Her collection of thirty hats, entitled The MLB Collection has been chosen to be part of the All Star Sports Show at Gallery 1200 in Hoboken, New Jersey this summer.  Her lifelong love of nature and her proximity to the ocean have also inspired many of her landscapes.

The moment of contemplation of life’s ever- present choices is an ongoing theme in much of her work. Often, the figures depicted are solitary giving credence to the notion that at its essence, we experience nature and life’s fate, alone

Just as her family guided her into a creative life, she is teaching her children to follow their dreams. This reaffirmation of her first creative love has been an exhilarating journey filled with the joys of new discovery, as is the loving support of her beloved family who tell her it’s great! …even when it a scraper.
