  Feature Artist Bio

By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by American

landscape painter Justin Treadaway (born 1981 in New Albany, Mississippi).

Justin Treadaway is a plein air semiabstract landscape painter and a high school art teacher currently based in his hometown of New Albany, Mississippi. Using his paintbrush and oil paint he captures the essence of the lush countryside of Union County, MS. Growing up he enjoyed drawing, reading comic books, and has had a love for the outdoors and nature since childhood.

Upon entering college, Justin initially majored in Social Science education. After taking an art class, his interest shifted to art. This along with his love for nature and drawing lead him to pursue plein air painting.

Justin's main influences are the impressionists and post impressionists such as Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, and Vincent Van Gogh as well as modern artists Henri Matisse and Richard Diebenkorn. Using vibrant colors, Justin doesn't paint an exact replication of what is before him but allows it to filter through him onto the canvas.

                       ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Creation inspires me. Everywhere I look I see God’s handiwork. I look up; I see the sky and clouds. I look around; I see trees, fields, grass, roads, and power lines. They all scream paint me!

My hope as an artist is to create work that causes others to see and appreciate the beauty of creation around them and cause them to rejoice in the One who created it.
