By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary

American landscape painter Alice Hauser (born 1961 in Colorado, USA).

Alice has two great passions in life, her family and creating art. She and her husband have raised six marvelous children and are enjoying the wonderful world of grand parenting! She studied at Brigham Young University before their children came along, finishing her RN at Kent State School of Nursing, later in life. She worked in a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She is now painting full time and traveling to beautiful places that meet their needs of fly fishing and painting!

Her Father introduced her to painting when she was a child. She still remembers walking through her small town and seeing his painting in a shop window. They used to paint together on Saturdays in his study. Her mother constantly encouraged her creativity through sewing, quilting and needlework. Though she did not have the confidence in her youth, to pursue art seriously at the University level, her heart continually turns to the arts and she has studied with some remarkable artists.

She was introduced to pastels in 2007, by Nicora Gangi, a Master Still Life Pastelist, through private study in Syracuse, NY. She encouraged her on a journey of copying the masters. Lawrence Churski introduced her to oils three years ago and has opened the world of plein air painting to her. He has become a trusted mentor and friend. She studies with Scott Christensen in his small group workshops in the summer...where her eyes are continually opened!

Alice has studied portraiture and figurative painting with Daniel Greene, Carolyn Anderson and Judith CarducciShe has attended still life workshops with Qiang Huang, and studies regularly with Patricia Rorhbacher.

She is continually inspired by the work of the great masters, Cassatt, Cezanne, Degas, Fechin, Sorolla, and Sargent.

               ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"As an impressionistic artist, I work to capture the fleeting moment. I am inspired by the stories of ordinary life and the people that share them. I use paint to not only interpret what I see but how I feel, allowing memory and life perspective to enhance my interpretation.

Others connect to my work, not only through the beauty of the painting, but through the story as well…because life is colored by human experience. My paintings allow me to express what my words cannot.”

Michael Hauser and Alice Jones Hauser
