By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Tim Oliver (born 1959 in Texas).

Tim Oliver is a Landscape Architect and owner of a design/build landscape firm in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in landscape architecture in 1983 from Texas Tech University.

Tim has always enjoyed drawing and sketching and in recent years has developed a love of the watercolor medium. He is passionate about communicating the character and emotion of a place through on-location or 'en plein air' sketching and painting. He is an award-winning watercolorist and founding member and contributor to Urban Sketchers Lubbock, a regional affiliate blog site of the international organization Urban Sketchers (www.urbansketchers.org).

While Tim will sketch or paint anything that stirs emotion and passion within him, he is drawn to things western, rural, gritty and seemingly mundane.  Having lived in West Texas, Northern Arizona and Eastern Canada, Tim draws on his fond memories and reminiscences of those places in much of his art. Anything evocative of a 'time long passed by' will always capture his attention.

Tim holds Signature membership in the National Watercolor Society and the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies. He is also an exhibiting member of the Outdoor Painters Society, the GAS Painting Group, the West Texas Watercolor Society as well as associate member of The American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Southwestern Watercolor Society and the American Impressionist Society.
