The Cyber Art Show
By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece Exhibitions of works by Canadian contemporary Impressionist painter David Sharpe (born 1946 in Toronto, Ontario Canada).
David Sharpe has been painting seriously for over 20 years. He recently left an award-winning creative career in Advertising to pursue a full-time career as a painter.
David is influenced by the American, British and Russian Impressionist Painters, and has a special affinity for the American Tonalist School of Charles Warren Eaton.
An Honours graduate from the Alberta College of Art and Design, he has taught Drawing and Design at The Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU), Concordia University, and Capilano College in Vancouver. He has lectured extensively at Queens University, St Lawrence College and Humber College where he sat on the College’s Advisory Board. He also teaches plein air painting through Gallery Stratford.
David is a founding member of the Ontario Plein Air Society (OPAS) where his work was rewarded with the ‘First Prize Jurors Choice Award’ at the 2009 Brush with the Highlands Plein Air Festival. He also received the ‘Essendene Church Award for Excellence’ at the 2010 Festival.
An avid outdoorsman and history buff, he regularly donates his work to fundraising for outdoor, heritage and conservation causes.
David lives and works in Stratford, Ontario Canada. His work is represented by Village Studios in Stratford, as well as West End Gallery in Westmount, Montreal.
