"Bringing the Museum to You"

By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece Exhibitions of works by Canadian contemporary Impressionist painter Brian Simons (born 1951 Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada ).

 

A self-taught artist, Brian derived much of his inspiration from the “Group of Seven,” the French Impressionists and the Writings of Baha'u'lla'h (Baha'i Faith). He and his family moved to Vancouver Island from Alberta, where he first began to paint, approximately 30 years ago. Prior to that, he focused mostly on drawing and sketching.

 

Brian began showing his work in 1988 and has been represented by numerous galleries on the Island. From 1993-2000, he painted on a full-time basis and had many successes and

confirmations in that period, including numerous commissions for a television production company, commission work for architects, several corporate and private sales both in Canada and the United States.

 

Brian’s work is represented By Kamp Galleries, Chicago, IL; Flamingo Gallery, Palm Springs, FL; Southshore Gallery, Sooke, B.C. and Art Rental Program, Art Gallery of  Greater Victoria.
