By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece Exhibitions of works by American contemporary Impressionist painter Scott W. Prior (born 1968 in Anaheim, California).
Scott is an award-winning oil painter and Southern California native. He received his BFA from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA where he studied under the exceptional artists Craig Nelson, Bill Maughan and Hui Han Lui. During his time at the Academy of Art Scott established his skills in design, drawing and painting, giving him a solid foundation with which to develop his own unique, artistic style. Scott draws inspiration from the beauty in ordinary, everyday scenes.
Scott is a Signature Member of the California Art Club and an Artist Member with the Portrait Society of America. He has exhibited in national shows, juried competitions and invitational events across the country including the California Art Club’s Annual Gold medal show at the Pasadena Museum of California Art, exhibitions at the Frederick Weisman Museum of Art, the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD, and in the prestigious Oil Painters of America National Show.
Recently, Scott has been asked to be a judge and guest speaker at various regional shows, with the most recent being the SOCALPAPA's Annual Back Bay Show and Competition, in Newport Beach, CA.
Scott has recieved other awards and recognitions from Oil Painters of America,
Laguna Plein Air Association, Carmel Art Festival, The Bower’s Museum Plein Air Show, the La Quinta Arts Foundation’s Desert Plein Air Invitational, La Quinta, CA, and The Society of Illustration Los Angeles, among many others.
During the 13th Annual Carmel Art Festival Plein Air Competition, he was honored with the “Emerging Artist Award” by Art & Antique Magazine. In addition, Scott has been featured in American Artist Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine and was recently published in the California Art Club's Centennial Book, published by Rizzoli Publishing in New York.
Currently he is resides in Oceanside, CA with his wife Wendy, his two daughters Hannah 12, Olivia 9 and of course the family pets, Molly, Simone and Tico.
