By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by Russian painter
Alexander Zimin (1970 in Volkhov, Leningrad region, Russia).
From the age of ten Alexander Zimin began to study at a children's art school. In 1988 he graduated from the Art School at the Academy of Arts (St. Petersburg). From 1992 to 1994 he an auditor at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin (St. Petersburg), the workshop of Professor V.I. Reyhet.
His first significant exhibition took place in 1994 in Finland ("Koskengalleria," Imatra). Since then, he has participated in more than 60 exhibitions in Russia, USA, China, Finland, Greece, Italy and Estonia.
The artist was a Prize-winner at the Carmel Art Festival (Carmel, USA) - 2001, 2002.
Since 2002 Alexander has been conducting master classes in painting in California (USA).
Since 2008 he has participated in the international educational project "Repin Institute in Kotka" (Finland); In his work, Alexander Zimin mainly refers to the genres of landscape and still life.
Alexander has been a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists since 1999.
The artist lives and works in St. Petersburg.
