By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Diane Mannion (born 1946 in New York, USA).

Diane lives and paints along the Floridian Gulf, where color and light are a constant source of inspiration. While capturing a moment both intimate and universal, memory plays a large part in her work. Whether figurative, still life, or landscape… or all three at once, her preferred medium is oil, but she also paints with watercolor and pastel.

Born in New York, Diane studied at Pratt Institute and State University of New York, graduate studies. Also known as author/illustrator, Diane Paterson, she has published over sixty children’s books. She maintains a blog, writing about painting techniques and has an archive of over a thousand paintings since 2008.

Diane's painting, "Water People" exhibited with the American Marine Society’s 17th National Exhibition, and is traveling to six museums. The artist was also awarded the Bowles Portrait Award twice, and honored with the FINE ART CONNOISSEUR MAGAZINE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE.

               ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"I paint contemporary realistic landscape, still life, and figurative, or all three at once.  My preferred medium is oil but I also paint with watercolor and pastel.

My inspiration is the color of light and translating this visual music with paint.  While capturing a moment both intimate and universal, memory and imagination play a large part in my work.
