By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Cindy Kopenhafer (born 1953 in Montana, USA).

Cindy began her career at an early age inspired by her Mother and Grandmother who were both artists. Growing up on a small ranch in central Montana near the Missouri and Teton rivers instilled in her a love of the outdoors and the beauty of nature. After receiving her Art Education Degree from Western Montana College, she moved to the mountains of western Montana where she raised a family and continued to practice in different mediums. Beginning in charcoal and oil and moving to pastels and watercolor.

About seven years ago, Cindy moved to Missouri and with Albert Handell as her mentor began fine tuning her talent. She was recently accepted into the Watercolor Honor Society, after being accepted into Watercolor USA for three years at the Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, Missouri. She also received an Associate Member with Distinction from the American Women Artists. Cindy has worked mainly in pastels but, an example of her pencil work can be seen in the November 2015 issue of Southwest Art Magazine.

Cindy has been accepted into many prestigious shows around the country. She is constantly challenging herself and willingness to accept constructive criticism has made her feel her talent is a work in progress.

               ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"Being raised on a small ranch in Montana by one of the "old cowboys" gave me a love for the history of our country and an appreciation for the great outdoors. It is outside where I like to do the majority of my work. The fresh air and ambience is as near to Heaven as one can get.”
