By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Bonnie Zahn Griffith (born 1953 in Montana, USA).

Bonnie Griffith is an artist working in oils and pastel.  Her work focuses on the western landscape primarily representational in nature.  From bold color to tonal paintings, she intends to offer a story to the viewer and engage them in the painting.  Much of her work is done en plein air.

Bonnie is a native of Montana, growing up near the Missouri Breaks of northcentral Montana.  Born to parents with artistic  backgrounds, her work was encouraged from early childhood.  Her formal art education has included many workshops over the years with noted instructors such as Elizabeth Mowry, Lorenzo Chavez and Robert Moore.

Gallery representation for Griffith include galleries in Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon.  Corporate as well as private collectors have her work in their collections in the US, Canada, and Australia.

Bonnie participates in numerous plein air events throughout the western US, rendering works in both pastel and oil in these events.  She has been an invited participant in several major art exhibits and shows such as the Heart of the West shows, Fred Oldfield Show and Sale, and participating on speaking panels of artists.  She lives in and works out of her studio in Meridian, Idaho.  Bonnie has served as Artist in Residence for the BLM’s Grand Staircase National Monument in UT.

Twelve Pieces by Contemporary Artist

               ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"I have come  to realize that my best representation of the statement I wanted to make is with the bold and brilliant pigments; whether it be pastels, oil or waxing.

These allow me to  bring depth and texture, light and mood into a painting or print.

My goal is to create work  that draw the viewer in to experience the time of day, the temperature, the sound, the smells. I want the viewer to experience the work and get lost in it - even for a moment.
