By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Bill Farnsworth (born 1958 in Norwalk, Connecticut).
​
As a 1980 graduate of The Ringling School of Art and Design, Bill Farnsworth has spent more than 34 years as an Illustrator and Fine Artist. Bill spent most of his life in New Milford, Connecticut painting landscapes of the rural area, while supporting himself and family with his growing illustration career.
Farnsworth is a Signature member of The Oil Painters of America, American Society of Marine Artist's, and The American Society of Impressionists. His paintings have appeared in many National shows, Museums, and private collections throughout the United States. A nationally-known illustrator, Bill has seamlessly moved into the Fine Art field where he has garnered awards of excellence from the Oil Painters of America's National and Regional shows. He won Best in Show at The 10th Biennial National Show in Punta Gorda, and a Bronze Medal in the 2013 OPA Summer Salon.

Says, Bill, "My goal with my work is to paint what I love and convey that honestly so the viewer can feel that as well. "
The artist's work is represented by The Hughes Gallery, Dabbert Gallery, Tree's Place, The Edward Dare Gallery, Sand Piper Gallery, Mountain Mist Gallery, The Anderson Gallery, and The Travis Gallery.
Bill currently lives in Venice, FL with his wife, Debbie.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"The light is what makes something very special or just forgettable. Cool overcast light can have a beautiful soft edge look, whereas sunny warm light can create interesting patterns and color.
In order to get this on canvas and convey it's honestly to the viewer, an artist must have the skills of visual language. Having the technical skill will give them the ability to express.
If you travel to another country and don't know the language, no one will understand you. This goes for art as well. A painting with bad values, shapes, and edges will not convey to the viewer how the artist feels about the subject."
