By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Heidi A. Marshall (born 1958 in Detroit, Michigan).

Heidi was reared in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and spent her summers growing up along the Rhein in Germany. She is descended from a line of painters including her father, William Amenda, who was chief illustrator for The Detroit News.
Marshall holds a BFA from Albion College and an MFA from Wayne State University. After a successful career as a Creative Director and Senior Writer for Young & Rubicam and Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, Heidi decided to devote herself to painting.
Marshall paints, en plein air---which means painting outside. She teaches landscape painting workshops at Three Pines Gallery in Cross Village, Michigan, and also taught at North Central Michigan College, in Petoskey, Michigan. She is greatly influenced by the works of Sorolla, Sargent,
Whistler, Homer, Andrew Wyeth, and her father.
While she enjoys all mediums, Heidi prefers pastels for her Plein air work. She was mentored by-- and studied with W. Truman Hosner and Albert Handell. Heidi exhibits at Three Pines Gallery in Cross Village, Michigan and at Helena Fox Gallery, in Charleston, South Carolina. Her work is on permanent exhibit at The University of Michigan.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"I am a professional artist who finds both the visible and invisible landscapes compelling. It's a love affair with the land and a curiosity of self.
The Earth is generous, especially to the plein air painter. She reveals herself. In my own way, I try to pass along what I see and feel --so that the fleeting beauty that stamps a time and place can be held just a bit longer."
