By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Terry Chacon (born 1954 in Prescott, Arizona).

Terry is an international award-winning artist from Redlands, California. Her artwork is in private collections in over 15 countries. She is an avid plein air artist and paints weekly on location whether it be the beautiful California coast, National Parks in the Southwest or the Inland Empire where she and her family reside.

Influenced by impressionistic style paintings like those of Monet, Charles Hawthorne and Henry Hensche, she sought out to learn a style of painting that would enhance her abilities by adding color and light to her subjects not only in her studio but on location as well. Capturing the light is the most important part of her paintings. "Painting in plein air has given me a new way to see light and capture it in my paintings. The challenge is to capture it quickly, as it doesn't wait for you."

Terry one of the founding members of the Plein Air Artists of Riverside, a member of PAPNM, WAOW and American Impressionist Society.

Terry’s plein air work can be seen at Purple Sage Gallery; Albuquerque, N.M.; Village Frame and Art Gallery, Montecito, CA; Jack’s Fine Art Gallery, Beaumont, CA.

She has won many awards for her plein air paintings throughout the southwest at local, regional and international exhibits and has juried in to some prestigious events:

"My exciting life in the world of dog shows has given me the opportunity to travel the world.  My other passion is painting and I am never without brushes, paint, palette, and canvas. Painting spectacular views of many places I have been are beautiful reminders of my travels and treasures to those who have them in their collections."
