"Bringing the Museum to You"

By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece Exhibitions  of works by Canadian contemporary Impressionist painter William Rogers (born 1949 in North Sydney, Nova Scotia Canada).

 

William (Bill) Rogers is an Elected Member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) of which he is currently the President. He is also a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA) and the Societe Canadienne de l’Aquarelle (SCA).

Recently, in May 2014, Bill served as the Royal Tour Artist for the 2014 Royal Tour of Canada by HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. It was the experience of a lifetime.

 

Most of his landscapes are done “Plein-air” and he also paints the model from life, usually twice a week. One of these watercolor figures is featured in “Splash 9” from Northlight Books. He also has a figure drawing  in “Strokes of Genius 2″ from Northlight Books.

 

Bill has extensive teaching experience and teaches Art part time at StFX University as well as many workshops in Canada and abroad.

From 1999 to the present, Bill's artwork has won numerous awards, including Carmel Art Festival, Carmel CA 2009: Honorable Mention;

Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, Open Water, Calgary 2009, AJ Casson Medal for Best in Show; Great Canadian Paint-out, Ottawa Ontario June 11 2011, Best in All Media, 2nd in Watermedia; Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour, Open Water, Toronto 2011, Creative Catalyst Award; FASO (Fine Art Studio Online) Boldbrush Painting Competition, January 2013, Outstanding Watercolor Award; Easels in Frederick, Honorable Mention, Quick Draw, June 2014, Frederick MD.

 

Bill just won the December 2014 Boldbrush Competition for Outstanding Watercolor.
