By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by American landscape painter Mallory Agerton (born 1956 in Nuremberg, Germany).

Mallory Agerton paints Realist landscapes that inspire the mind and renew the spirit. In May of 2015 Agerton graduated from the Landscape Atelier Program with master artist Deborah Paris.  She received a BFA from the University of Texas in Austin and later studied at the Art Students League in New York City under Robert Beverly Hale and David Leffel. She has also studied with landscape artists Kim English, Brian Blood, Michael Workman and Skip Whitcomb.

In 2015, her work was included in the Oil Painters of America Western Regional Show, The National Oil and Acrylic Painters "Best of America Show," and in a group show at the Hawthorne Gallery in New York City.  Recently she exhibited in The Salon International at The Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, The National Juried Show at the Buchanan Gallery in Galveston, and the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in New York City. In the fall of 2015 she won a Merit Award from the International Online Showcase of The National Oil and Acrylic Painters.

As the old masters did, Agerton uses only observation, her own drawings, imagination and memory to create her paintings. By not using photographs, and only her own field studies she is able to better distill the essence of a scene and a evoke a sense of place. She enjoys using both direct and indirect methods of painting- that is using both opaque and transparent paint. Currently Agerton is working on a series of landscapes of Texas and Colorado.
