By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary French landscape painter Sophie Amauger (born 1961 in Poitiers, France).

A resident of Toulouse, France, Sophie received her initial creative training 1980-1985 at the Rennes School of Fine Art. She pursued further studies at the Brassart School of Graphic Art in Tours.

From 1986-2000, Sophie produced scale models to promote the course “Arts and the Environment” in Aubeterre. She also studied decorative techniques at the Museum of the Trompe l’Oeil in Périgueux, creating frescoes and working on projects promoting culture in public spaces.

Since 2000 Sophie has concentrated entirely on producing compositions in pastel of landscapes and outdoor subjects, being strongly influenced by natural light and its effects.
