By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by French landscape painter Martine Tulet (born 1955 in Cahors, South of France).

Martine really got introduced to Art in the mid 80’s, starting her artist career as a photographer while she was living in New York City. She had several group and solo exhibitions in New York, Denmark, Bulgaria, Canada as well as in Japan and has been featured in various magazines including the International Fine Art Zoom Magazine, the Australian Magazine Black & White and published in the French Photo magazine.

Around the end of the 90s, being busy in her professional career she had less time to work on photography and started learning watercolor Painting at Pratt Institute and later attending live model drawing at Spring Studio for several years.

2 years after moving back to France in 2012 she attended one of Penelope Milner’s Workshop on portraiture and fell in love with Pastel Painting. Since then she has been dedicating her time to learning more about the Pastel Technics. After attending a workshop with Sophie Amauger a known French pastellist, she knew that landscape would be her favorite subject.

Practicing everyday and attending workshops on a regular basis helped her to progress enormously. Most of her paintings depict scenes from the Lot Region located in the South East of France near the beautiful village called Saint Cirq Lapopie. She lives half year there and in Toulouse the rest of the time.

The Impressionists, in particular Monet and Renoir, are her sources of inspiration.

               ARTIST'S STATEMENT

“I enjoy trying to capture the moment of light or emotion I see or feel in the landscape. Observe Nature and beauty will appear everywhere from a rock to a tree; the most difficult is to translate it into paintings.”
