By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Lilli-anne Price (born 1961 in Capetown, South Africa).

Lilli-anne has resided on the Monterey Peninsula for 30 years. Her artistic journey with painting started 15 years ago, inspired by her horses in the landscapes of ever changing light in their pastures that surround her home in The Steinbeck Hills.

She studied with The Carmel Adult school for 5 years. She has studied Still Life painting with Mark Farina, Figure drawing with John McWilliams and plein air painting with Gerard Martin, Mark Farina and John McWilliams. She has also taken workshops from Ken Auster, Brian Blood, Cyndra Bradford, Timothy HornKaffe Fasset, Randell Sexton, Calvin Liang and Erin Gafill.

Lilli-anne finds using an array of palette knives with a unique palette of textured colors, raw shapes and forms bring her paintings to life. It is a physical experience...paint flies! "You have to know your subject or you had to be there in order to have the gesture, personality, spark, drama or feel in a painting," she says. "No boring paintings ...otherwise just take a photograph." Taking risks is her go-to mode. Every painting has its own personality...nothing stays the same.

Lilli-anne shows her work in her studio (of 26 years), on Ocean Ave in Carmel. She is a Signature member and the 2016 Treasurer of the Monterey Bay Peninsula Plein Air Association (MBPAPA.org) and a Signature member of Carmel Valley Art Association.
