By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Karen Hennecks (born 1946 in Colorado, USA ).
Karen is a gallery-represented pastel artist. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and a member of the Pastel Society of Colorado, and the Pastel Society of New Mexico. She has painted numerous murals and life-size fiberglass animals for charity "City Project Parade Animals" in Wyoming and South Dakota.
Karen's inspiration is God's ever-changing palette, and she strives to capture the contrast of light and shadow on the landscape. Her love of nature and concern with what the growing population is doing to it is her motivation, in hopes that future generations will be able to see what once was the uncluttered Western landscape.
Karen is also writing and illustrating children's books through Pirate Moon Press and Moonbeam Press. Watch for "This Skin I'm In" "Ben and Pirate Moon" and "Something's Fishy" coming out this year. For more information go to www.pirateMoonpress.com
