By permission of the artistThe Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece Exhibitions of works by American landscape artist Linda Dessaint, (born 1951 in Peterborough, NH).

Linda Dessaint found herself totally struck by lightning the day she viewed a large exhibit of paintings by Claude Monet at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in 1998. There was no turning back for her after that. She took drawing classes, watercolor classes and then studied pastels with Russ Russell, an oil painter and teacher whom she met when he was in his eighties. He taught her about composition, values, color, etc. Best of all, he wanted her to paint her way and find her own style. (Which was perfect for her independent nature.)

Next she studied plein air painting with Albert Handell in Maine and Richard McKinley in Connecticut, and studio painting with Elizabeth Mowry. She has earned Signature Membership with the Pastel Painters of Maine and the New Hampshire Pastel Society. She is also a juried member of the Pastel Society of America. She has won many awards in National and International Competitions

One of the greatest moments of her life was when she found herself standing on the front porch of Claude Monet’s home in Giverny, France a few years ago. Giving thanks there for the inspiration of a lifetime.

Linda resides in Southern New Hampshire.
