By permission of the artistThe Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature a 12-piece Exhibition of works by American landscape artist LaMont Sudduth (born 1956 in Frankfort, Kentucky).

After 15 years as a professional guitarist, and burnout from traveling,  LaMont settled for a newer challenge of expression very late in life.  Moving from Kentucky to Atlanta as a musician and finally shifting careers, he made Griffin, Georgia his home with his new wife and family. What was once a sound palette of experimental music soon after evolved into an experimental visualabstract art-making  phase, which included exhibits with a local artist chapter in Fayetteville, Georgia.

As the years passed, through personal experiences and a metamorphosis of styles , a hunger to capture pure beauty surfaced and slowly the expressionist abstract art work progressed into something even deeper in the quiet of his home studio. The memories and love of nature from his early youth, coupled with a renewed spiritual awakening made it an undeniable pairing of heart and soul.

Being a newcomer and admirer of the beauty of Impressionism and the tranquil style of Tonalism, it is not surprising that their

influences found themselves intertwined in this ebb n flow of paint from soul to brush. At times, LaMont's work speaks as a tonal passage or he chooses atmosphere over detail, as he encourages the viewer to use his art as a tool to connect to something spiritual from within

As a self-taught artist, LaMont considers himself very fortunate and blessed to have been able to take part in group and solo exhibits, with works in public as well as private collections in local homes, out of state, and to further include homes in South Korea and Poland. The artist feels this is just a new dawn, as 'Art' really is a lifetime of dedication and love, never forgetting that it is the journey that matters in the end.

LaMont Sudduth currently resides in Griffin, Georgia, with his wife and son

                ARTIST'S STATEMENT

“Is not life, all things spiritual, moral, and the push and pull between each of these?

In my art, the boundary between the body and spirit, Earth and Heaven is where I exist."
