The Cyber Art Show

By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by British-American landscape painter Jane Hunt (born 1970 in Derby, England).
After moving to the U.S. as a teenager, Jane Hunt studied illustration at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She continued her art education by experiencing art communities in France, England, Indonesia and China while studying various painting techniques. The award-winning painter now resides in Colorado, where she continues to be awed and inspired by the natural beauty surrounding her. Drawn to the sweeping landscapes of the west, Hunt works primarily in oils, often creating smaller pieces en plein air. Jane Hunt’s work is represented by galleries in the U.S., as well as her native England.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"Even though I paint a lot of pieces on location, my landscapes are less about describing a specific place than they are about the feeling evoked. I use an impressionistic, textural style to convey the emotional response that I had to the scene.
I always know a piece is complete when I feel connected to it, as if I’ve lived there before. My greatest hope is that my work gives it’s viewers this same sense of nostalgia and comfort; a gentle place to rest."
