The Cyber Art Show

By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by French-American landscape painter Joelle Feldman (born 1952 in Normandy, France).
Born and raised in Normandy, France, today Joelle shares her time between Harvard, MA and Harpswell, ME. After a career in high technology as Globalization Project Manager, Joelle decided over a year ago to leave her corporate life to dedicate all of her time to painting.
Joelle began painting 30 years ago, first in watercolor and thereafter in pastels and oils, which have become her two media of choice for both studio and plein air painting.
Though largely self-taught, Joelle has studied with highly accomplished artists such as Frank Federico, Liz Haywood Sullivan, Aline Ordman, Chris Ivers, Carol Marine and Colin Page to name a few.
The landscapes, flora and architecture of her native France and adopted New England home provide endless inspiration and opportunities to capture a subject and moment: individual natural elements, plants, and vignettes of daily life.
Joelle’s work has been accepted in Members and National Juried shows of the Pastel Society of New Hampshire, the Connecticut Pastel Society, the Concord Art Association, the Artist Cottage and Studio, KIMSLET Foundation in Cousins Island, ME, River Arts in Damariscotta, ME and the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford, MA. Her first pastel juried entries were the recipient of the Chardon Artistry Award from the Pastel Society of New Hampshire in 2014 and the Diane Townsend Award from the Pastel Connecticut Society in 2015.
Joelle was selected as one of the artists in the 2015 Artists in Residence Program (AIR) at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA.
Joelle is a member of the Connecticut Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of New Hampshire, the Pastel Painters of Maine and the Concord Art Association in Concord, MA.
Her work is currently exhibited at the NOA Gallery in Groton, MA the Yarmouth and Frame Gallery in Yarmouth, ME and the Fruitlands Museum Store in Harvard, MA.
Joelle teaches pastel classes for beginners and intermediate students at the NOA Gallery, Groton MA and at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"Light, alignment, vibrant color and simplicity define my work. I find great joy in a full range of subjects sharing an intensity of light and saturation of color. From the intense, sun-permeated colors of Provence, to the moist blue-green values of New England, I discover the vibrancy, subtlety and shadow that nature may offer at a given moment.
I also delight in the form, texture and color found in every day objects. My work is always evolving as I discover new ways to experiment with the pastel medium, watercolors and oils."
