By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by Italian-Canadian landscape painter Pina Manoni-Rennick (born 1950 in Bassano Romano, Italy).

 

Born in a town north of Rome, Italy, Pina now lives in Russell, Ontario with her family. Her life-long interest in nature nurtured her desire to recreate it with oil, watercolour and more recently, in acrylics. Pina has enhanced her skills by taking the Visual Arts Program at Algonquin College, workshops at St. Lawrence College, The Ottawa School of Art, and through ongoing study with National and International artists.

 

She paints each day both at her studio and on location. Every Friday she meets and paints "plein air" with the "Ottawa-8" and on Wednesdays she can be found with fellow artists figure drawing. She is a member of the Ottawa Art Association, the Eastern Central Ontario Art Association (ECOAA), CARFAC and she is an associate of the Ottawa Watercolour Society.

 

Pina has enjoyed displaying her work in three solo shows and several group showings in Ottawa and the surrounding region such as: the Ottawa Art Festival, The Rideau Valley Art Festival in Westport, Russell's Autumn in the Country, the Merrickville Art Festival and was part of the successful “Points of View,” “Ottawa Alleyways,” “Ottawater,”“Alleyways-II” and most recently, “Hidden Gems” shows at the Cube Gallery in Ottawa.

 

Pina has won several awards including the Blythe MacDonald Award for her watercolours.

 

Her work hangs in various collections in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.
