  Feature Artist Bio

By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by American landscape painter, Anita Stoll (born 1939 in California, USA).

Anita is known for her ethereal pastel landscapes and florals. Her paintings are inspired by what she observes in nature.

At the age of 50 she and her husband moved from a suburb of Los Angeles to the high desert north of the city where she was immediately struck with the open expanses of sky and land. She was overcome by an urge to create. She started painting on her own and met artist and teacher Glenn Knowles who became her mentor. She started taking classes with him at the Antelope Valley College and painted every chance she could in her spare time while working at her day job as a buyer for one of  the major aerospace conglomerates. It wasn’t long before she became an artist full time. She got into galleries in  the west (Kertesz Gallery, San Francisco, CA., Grimimshaw Fine Art, Taos, N.M., Four Seasons Gallery, Wrightwood, CA.) and she was the in-house artist for the Antelope Valley Winery

After moving to Coarsegold, California in 2004 to be closer to the Sierra Nevada mountains where she and her husband backpacked regularly, she became internationally known by having a feature article in "International Artist" magazine in 2006 and an award-winning landscape painting in 2009. She was featured in the "Pastel Journal" for an award in their Top 100 Competition in 2006. Her works are published in "Best of America Pastel Artists vol II. and "Eyes on Landscapes." Her artwork is on the cover of Canson Mi-Teintes Earth and Gray Tone pastel pads

A few of Anita’s past and present affiliations include, Pastel Society of the West Coast, signature artist, Northwest Pastel Society, signature artist and Yosemite Western Artists. Her juried exhibitions and awards are numerous with the latest one at the Art Scientific Show 2015, Fresno, California where her work "Separation Anxiety (Water and Oil Don't Mix)"  took 2nd place.

Anita is currently represented at Timberline Gallery in Oakhurst, CA. She teaches and shows her works at her home studio in Coarsegold, California where she offers private lessons and group classes.
