Feature Artist Bio
By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by American
landscape painter Barb Capeletti (born 1960, in Florida, USA).
Since retiring from commercial banking in 2008, Barb Capeletti has renewed and pursued her childhood passion for art and painting, especially watercolors, in her home studio in Florida. She has no formal art education, but has taken workshops with nationally-known artists and attended various plein air events.
Barb's watercolors highlight the unique way that the colors blend on the paper, and the many different expressions, vivid colors and deep values that can be achieved through this medium. Recently she has expanded her skills to include oil paintings, specifically impressionist landscapes.

Barb’s true inspiration is nature – particularly the breathtaking landscapes of the American West – Colorado, Arizona, Grand Canyon, as well as lovely wooded and floral scenes around the country. She paints both en plein air and from her travel photographs. With a second home in Colorado, Barb now has an amazing array of vistas and seasons in which to paint.

While her favorite subject is landscapes and the change in colors that the sunlight creates on mountains, rocks, trees, foliage, streams and meadows, she also enjoys exploring the seemingly endless color spectrum of birds and flowers. Barb enjoys painting in representational as well as in an impressionistic style. Elements of both can be found in many of her paintings.

Barb is inspired by and deeply admires the amazing artwork of various artists – Joe Miller, Tom Jones, Susan Crouch, Jean Haines, and George Gallo, to name a few. Some have become mentors to her on her art journey.

Barb’s watercolor paintings have won several awards, both locally and in online international competitions. She recently won the 2016 Signature Artist for the 2-day Coral Springs Festival of the Arts. Barb also won the People’s Choice award at that show for the prior three years.

Over the past several years Barb has chaired 20 large fundraisers and worked on many more, and has received several awards for her philanthropic work. She donates a percentage of all art sales to local charities.
