Feature Artist Bio
By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by Thai landscape
painter Direk Seegeaw (born 1964, in Thailand).
Direk was born and lives in southern Thailand, where his life has been centered on growing and learning from the mountains, seas and rural nature, as well as from southern Thailand culture.
Direk's earliest memories revolve around drawing. As a child, he used leaves to tell a story. He retained his passion for creating while attending art school, high school and college. He attended the College of Arts and Higher Education at Rajabhat University. After college, Direk worked as a graphic artist for many leading newspaper companies in the country for more than 10 years.
During his career, Direk has known many famous artists and painters in Thailand, such as Somwong Tuprat, Suvicharn Thao Thong, etc. The artist who has most influenced and inspired him is King Bhumibol, King Rama IX of Thailand.
Direk teaches art and also conducts watercolor workshops.
Direk joined the International Watercolor Society in January, 2017. His watercolors have been exhibited in IWS events in many countries, including Kosovo, Indonesia, India, Mexico, Bolivia and Canada.
