Twelve Pieces by Contemporary Artist

               ARTIST'S STATEMENT

It's been said of my paintings that one comes away with feelings of nostalgia, or a memory of something gone but not forgotten. I've always viewed the physical act of painting as very solitary, and meditative, which may contribute to that.

In my work there is a blend of technique and theory that occurs at once, yet never guided by a strict formula, or one straight path to a finished painting. What occurs is trance-like. There are all the elements of mystery as well as melancholy, and also the sheer joy for the love of being in nature that go into making a successful painting.”
