By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary American landscape painter Jeanne Pierce (born 1952 in Beacon, New York).
A native of Oakland, New Jersey, Jeanne Pierce received her BFA from Syracuse University, and continued her study of painting with Alban Albert and John Osborne. This training was essential in providing the tools to become a dedicated plein air painter. After moving to Massachusetts in 1982, Pierce continued to paint while raising her family. She worked as a floral designer, and as an artist for a local furniture company, creating hundreds of pieces of hand painted furniture.
Currently, she shares her love of art by teaching Visual Art to middle school students in Lowell, Massachusetts, and oil painting to adults.
Pierce continues to paint landscapes in oil, working outdoors as much as possible. She exhibits her work at many regional and local shows and competitions throughout New England. Her work can be seen at Gallery 529 in Littleton, MA and Creative Ventures Gallery in Amherst, NH.
Jeanne is a member of The Newburyport (MA) Art Association, Ridgewood (NJ) Art Institute, Sharon (NH) Arts, and New Hampshire Plein Air. She has exhibited in many juried shows including: The Fitchburg Art Museum, Ridgewood Art Institute, Newburyport Art Association and the Cape Cod Art Association. She has received several awards and her work is included in numerous private collections.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
“As a lifelong student of the natural world, I have always been intrigued by the infinite variety of form and color to be found in nature. Natural light illuminates these forms in a variety of ways. In my artwork, I attempt to convey these varying effects of light on form and color, and communicate the feeling of a particular place and time.
