By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by American landscape painter Maria Marino (born 1961 in Washington DC, USA).

Maria Marino works and lives in suburban Maryland. She graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), cum laude with a BFA in Interior Architecture. MICA offered an Interior Design program that wove a traditional fine art curriculum into it. This background that included drawing instilled the essential need to carry a sketchbook. Maria constantly drew on her daily commute and continues with her sketchbook in hand to almost everywhere she travels.

After a successful career as a licensed Interior Designer of corporate and educational facilities, she began painting full-time in 2015. Her time is split between painting in plein air and in the studio. The plein air pieces are used as reference studies for her studio work. Maria’s paintings focus on the intimate settings found in the landscape that capture the moments that are bathed in light. Her work is characterized by bold strokes of color that carry a wonderful sense of rhythm and composition with a great sense of spontaneity.

Maria is an Exhibiting Artist member of the National Arts Club, Signature Member and Elected Board Member of the Pastel Society of America, Elected Member of Allied Artists of America Inc., Salmagundi Club, Audubon Artists Inc., Signature Member-Connecticut Pastel Society and Maryland Pastel Society. She also maintains membership with the American Impressionist Society and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. Maria’s work has been accepted in juried national shows and has received recognition for her paintings in the Grand Gallery of the National Arts Club, Galleries at Salmagundi Club as well as exhibited in national shows such as the American Impressionist Society.
