By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by Argentinian landscape painter Alejandra Gos (born 1979  in Buenos Aires, Argentina).

Alejandra is a software engineer in Seattle, WA. Originally from Argentina, she moved to the US in 2005 and has been living and working in Washington State since then.

Art has always had an important place in her life. As a child, she was often involved in art projects including drawing and coloring realistic human figures starting at the age of 5.

Introduced to pastels by her mother when she was a teenager, they have become her preferred medium to work with. She has dedicated the last 5 years to painting the landscape and nature. Light, contrast and vibrant colors are predominant in her work. She is inspired by the scenery in Washington state.

She has taken several workshops from renowned pastelists such as Liz Haywood-Sullivan, Marla Baguetta and Barbara Jaenicke. Also, Alejandra paints frequently with a group of artists at Janet Hamilton’s Studio in Everett, WA.

Several artists influence her work, mainly works of Karen Margulis and Marla Baguetta. Alejandra’s style is overall bold, with squared strokes and striking color and edges.

She is a member of the Northwest Pastel Society and the Pastel Society of the West Coast. She has had several paintings juried in exhibitions in the Washington state area.

             ARTISTS'S STATEMENT

“I make art because I believe that is one of the few things that can be done without conditions or restrictions. Nobody is there but the artist, the paint and the canvas. The freedom I feel when working on an art piece has no limits.

Art is an escape from everyday life. It transports me to a place and mood where I get in touch with my core soul and thoughts."
