By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary
American landscape painter Curtis Wood (born 1958 in Limestone, Maine).
After living in many states, Curtis spent the majority of his youth in the Alaskan bush. After joining the military in 1977, he traveled the world for the next five years. After this Curtis worked with abused animals at the Delaware County humane society, where he was the first humane officer, and the Columbus Zoo as a bird keeper.
A self-taught painter, the artist found his gift painting with pastels later in life. Having no school of formal study enabled Curtis to create his individual expressions of self-discovery.
Curtis resides in Galena, Ohio. The Galena Methodist Church has purchased Curtis's paintings of local scenes.
The artist has sold paintings in California, New York, Florida, Virginia and throughout Ohio, online mainly, from Facebook.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
“The secret to my technique is using 400# cold press water color paper using golden's pastel ground as a base for my paintings sometimes using color and adding a second coat for a stronger tooth. ”
