By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by contemporary
American landscape painter Hub Willson (born 1950 in Allentown, Pennsylvania).
Hub Willson has been a commercial photographer in the Lehigh Valley, PA for over 45 years. He shoots architecture, industry, portraiture, fashion and the visual and performing arts including dance, theater and other artists' work. His studio in located in Allentown, PA.
A few years ago Hub decided to try painting as a hobby and soon became very passionate spending all his free time painting plein air in the warmer months and experimenting with various styles in the winter. Hub works in acrylics and usually creates a painting a day when not overwhelmed with photo shoots.
Completely self-taught he is drawn to Tonalism and loves to create atmospheric mood with fog and backlighting, often including the sun as part of the image. He didn't know what Tonalism was until an art historian from a local art museum told him what his style resembled. He currently has about 200 finished landscapes for sale, mostly of the beautiful parks, barns and farmland surrounding his home in Eastern Pennsylvania.
Hub has also been a musician since an early age and had some records on the charts in the 60's and played in several bands over 35 years on drums and piano.
