By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by American
landscape painter Suzie Greer Baker (born 1970 in Ottawa, Ontario Canada).
Suzie Baker has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Fine Arts from Louisiana Tech University. Following her degree program, she worked as an ad agency Art Director before trading her Pantone swatches for a brush and palette.
She paints in oils and is motivated by color, immediacy of stroke, composition, the camaraderie of other artists, and ultimately the desire to evolve as an artist. “I strive to create paintings that communicate confidence in execution and that exhibit a fresh, intuitive, and spontaneous quality,” says Baker.
She has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur, Plein Air, Southwest Art Magazine and COLLECTION Magazines. Within the last year alone, she has exhibited in national competitions with the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, Portrait Society of America and Art Renewal Center to name just a few. Additionally, Suzie has been awarded Signature Memberships in many prestigious arts organizations and serves on the board with Oil Painters of America.
In addition to her portrait and figure work, Suzie regularly paints en plein air or in the open air. In 2017, she will be traveling as an invited artist to many Plein Air Events around the country including those in Atlanta, Telluride, Easton, and Door County.
Her humorous and informative teaching makes her a sought-after workshop instructor. She has two workshops scheduled this summer to choose from in Nashville and Telluride.
