By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by Dutch landscape
painter Jan Min (born 1951 in Velsen, Netherlands).
Jan Min, 65 years old, is an impassioned watercolor painter. His impressions are always colorful, with abundant atmosphere and light.
This representation of light and color play a central role, inciting an emotional connection between the spectator and the painting.
Jan's favorite subjects are street-views and maritime scenes, the latter of which are his favorite, as he has sailed all his life. As a child he was always drawing. The last 15 years he has painted professionally, after studying at the Academy of Art in Laren, Holland, where he lives with his family.
Jan has attended several master classes with world- famous watercolorists,who inspired him to use the watercolor medium exclusively. This medium inspires him every day to accept the challenge of translating his subjects into eye-catching artworks. Jan's passion drives his daily painting.
For the past two years, Jan has has been a committee member of the IWS (International Watercolor Society) in Holland, dedicated to the growth and promotion of the watercolor medium worldwide.
Jan is in much demand as an art teacher. For the past four years, he has given workshops in his studio two afternoons a week.
Jan's works have been featured in many publications including International Contemporary Artists; Cohen's Choice (A Selection of Dutch Contemporary Art); Palet Art Magazine; International Watercolor Society 2015-2106 Catalog; and Pratique des arts 2016;

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
“With my watercolors I want to capture fascinating topics in a mystical and colorful atmosphere. The display of light and tone values plays a central role in this, creating an emotional connection between the viewer and the work. The watercolor technique is an ultimate medium for me to achieve this.”
