The Cyber Art Show
By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by British landscape painter Kevin Day (born 1973 in South Shields, England).
From a very young age Kevin showed a natural gravitation towards painting and drawing, nurtured and inspired by his mother and grandfather.
Having graduated in illustration but not really finding any artistic path to follow he embarked on a career as a professional musician playing guitar in a band. On leaving the band various career paths ensued and painting was laid to one side for a time.
After a few years Kevin eventually saw an opportunity to build a career as an artist and follow his overwhelming urge to become a painter.
Not having any formal training, he is self-taught by studying several artists such as Sargent, Zorn, Sorrola, Turner, & Vermeer who he greatly admires.
Working in a unlimited range of genres, Kevin paints whatever motivates him at a particular moment in time, whether nocturnal cityscapes, intimate interiors, sunlit sail boats, figures caught in a moment or acting out a narrative. He is driven to create paintings that possess soul and mood, capturing the viewers attention, and creating an everlasting impression. Kevin's favoured mediums are oils and charcoal as well as experimenting with digital media on iPad.
