The Cyber Art Show
By permission of the artist, The Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the second of two 12-piece exhibitions of works by American landscape painter Gina Strumpf (born 1956 in Charlotte, North Carolina).
Gina Strumpf knew from an early age she was born to be an artist. Her pens and pencils were a constant companion growing up and having an opportunity to mentor with nationally-acclaimed artist, Josette Gourley, had a strong impact on her. Gina received two scholarships to prestigious art schools, Ringling School of Art and The Traphagen School of Fashion in NYC, on her way to becoming a fashion illustrator. Fashion was a passion but instead of the drawing board, it took her to the "catwalk" where she worked as professional runway and print model for 12 years. After marriage, raising a family and a very successful real estate career it was time to get back to her first love and like an old friend; Art was there waiting. Her brushes haven't left her hands for many years now. She has honed her skills in record time, taking many workshops from noted artists, including Kevin McPherson, Bill Davidson, and Michelle Dunaway.
Gina's work is best described as an American modern impressionist, she is best known for her 'International Rainy Day Cityscapes'. Her paintings are rich in color, mood and spirit.... there is an inherent warmth and quality to her work that pulls the viewer in and won't let them go. As an Artist, she would like her works to represent the passion she feels in her subject matter. She also enjoys landscape painting and figurative work, she is a lover of color and light. Well-versed in multiple mediums, Gina has been invited numerous times to be the "Resident Artist" for Cunard Cruise Lines, where she has taught art to over a thousand students on voyages around the globe. This past summer once again Gina joined Cunard as their Resident Artist, this time on board the stunning Queen Victoria for the month of July collecting much inspiration for her paintings while visiting many ports of call in the Baltic region on the way to St. Petersburg, Russia.
Gina's Art work is shown in fine art galleries from Washington DC to Charleston and Beaufort, South Carolina. With collectors across the USA and Europe, and many owning multiple paintings, she is a sought-after artist. She loves painting en plein air and has been invited to participate in several En Plein Air events across the Southeast. Traveling for inspiration whenever possible to new and exciting locations.... The joy of painting from life capturing that "moment in time" is what makes her spirit soar!
In September 2014, Gina was invited by GOLDEN Artist Colors to come to London to be trained by the legendary Patti Brady. She was one of two Americans invited to participate in this international training program. Gina proudly now has the distinction of being a GOLDEN Artist Educator and teaches workshops around the country. She is available for talks, demonstrations and workshops on all GOLDEN Products.
Gina works out of her studio in Charlotte, North Carolina and her door is always open!
